The Windy City

The Windy City

Enjoy these pictures I took on my trip. I also included nice little summaries of some of the things I did.

As always, stay fabulous!

Millennial Park

Of course, I’m going to be a bit Clichè and start off with the first thing google tells you to do while in Chicago. There ironically was a free Blues Music Festival occurring at the park the same weekend while I was in the city. Music, people, food, good weather, and good vibes. I ended up participating in 2 out of the 3 days of the festival. It was great relaxing on the lawn, interacting with different people and enjoying the performances by many blues artists.

Navy Pier

I specifically went to the pier to doc onto one of the sightseeing tours on Lake Michigan. Aside from that, there was so much to do, eat, and drink.

Grant Park

I LOVED this park. If you follow the trail it leads you directly from Navy Pier to Millenial Park. There is a biking lane and walking lane along the lakefront. Definitely perfect for a nice day out.

Museum of Contemporary Art

This museum has student discounts, tickets were only $8. The specific day I went it was free due to there being a museum exhibition devoted to the work of Virgil Abloh on the 4th floor. There are so many awesome museums to explore in Chicago if that is something you are into.

Boat Tours

There are so many different options when it comes to selecting a boat tour. I specifically went on two, a sightseeing tour and the architecture tour. I personally enjoyed the architecture tour a lot more because it went through the city, the guide was way more interactive, and it felt more informative.

Apple Store

A real girls phone was running out of charge and the apple store wasn’t too far so yes, I walked there. The apple store is made completely out of glass and it is right on the riverfront. I charged my phone and played around with some Ipads (currently trying to get one for med school). It was also a great opportunity to walk through the city.

Mercadito Rivernorth

Best tacos I’ve ever had in my life, and I’m not the only one who thinks that. They were voted Chicago’s Top 3 dinner restaurant. I highly recommend.

Relaxing area right on the river. There are cute shops where you can get coffee, drinks or food.

Punch Bowl Social

Restaurant, and arcade all jammed into one. There was a pool table, bowling, arcade games, darts, etc.

London House

Rooftop bar. It was a nice spot to get a night view of the city.

Theory Sports Lounge

The night we went here it looked as if everyone just got off of work and needed to go destress. Not to mention there was a whole wedding party in attendance, the bride in her dress and all. Music and drinks were great though!
